Account Manager
Account Manager – B2B Technology Solutions (UK)
Basic Salary £35k–£40k + £20k+ OTC (uncapped) & Benefits
Location: Hybrid/Surrey (3 days on-site)
About the Role
Our client is a UK-based industry leader specialising in safety solutions for lone and at-risk workers across public and private sectors, protecting over 200,000 employees. Their 225k+ customers include:
- Over 100 NHS trusts
- 150+ local authorities
- 200+ housing associations
- Commercial sectors: utilities, facilities management, distribution, care, and more.
The Account Manager will be responsible for managing ~150 accounts (including subsidiaries), retching existing revenue and upselling/cross-selling the company’s expanding product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
Account Retention
- Protect the base:
- Monitor contract status, account health, and churn risks against each account.
- Develop and execute strategic retention plans for high-risk renewals.
- Prioritise inflation-proof growth for strategic and top-tier accounts.
- Mitigate churn:
- Identify and escalate churn risks as early as possible.
- Collaborate with Customer Success & Customer Care to develop solutions and mitigation strategies.

Growth & Upsell Strategy
- Expand product adoption:
- Conduct whitespace analysis (gap assessment) to identify revenue opportunities.
- Work with Customer Success to understand pain points and tailor win themes to proposals.
- Deliver high-impact proposals with executive summaries and differentiated commercial offerings.
- Drive pipeline & forecasts:
- Overachieve sales targets with a laser focus on forecast accuracy.
- Leverage AI agents and emerging technologies to improve efficiency.
- Master Salesforce CRM for opportunity tracking, forecasting, lead/contact management.
CRM & Performance
- Maintain flawless Salesforce data hygiene:
- Accurate opportunity management, pipeline, forecasting.
- Proactive lead & contact updates to support sales efforts.
Customer Advocacy
- Serve as a brand ambassador, consistently representing excellence.
- Foster trust and loyalty through high-touch client engagement.

Essential Experience
✅ Proven track record in multi-disciplinary B2B sales, ideally within:
- Business/managed services or technology-enabled service providers (e.g., SaaS, SaaS-based compliance, health/safety software).
✅ Experience in customer retention, account management, and acquisition, with growth results achievable via structured sales methodologies.
✅ Subscription/recurring-revenue experience helpful, particularly in high-compliance/regulated spaces (e.g., hospital, local authority, housing).
✅ Self-driven, disciplined, and collaborative mindset:
- Tenacious & proactive – Never leaves loose ends.
- Adaptable & positive – Thrives in dynamic environments.
- Considerate communicator – Speaks fluently with execs, operational teams, and everyday users.
Technical Proficiency
- Native Salesforce CRM skill with reporting, forecasting, pipeline management.
- Comfort with hybrid sales methodologies (typical steps: discovery → target → fight → execution).
Additional Notes
- A background in NHS, housing, local authority, or public-sector tech would align perfectly with client ecosystems.
