Account Manager (Orthopaedics)
Senior Account Manager (Orthopaedics) – East of England & South Midlands
We design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living. At Smith+Nephew, you’ll build strong customer relationships, deliver value-based solutions, and make an impact in healthcare as part of our dynamic, field-based sales team.
Reporting to the Area Business Manager, this role is based in the East of England and South Midlands, covering:
- Cambridgeshire
- Northamptonshire
- Bedfordshire
- Hertfordshire
What You’ll Be Doing
As the Orthopaedics Account Manager, you’ll lead strategic growth by taking full ownership of your allocated accounts. Your responsibilities will include:
- Crafting and executing tactical plans to unlock revenue opportunities
- Leading quarterly business reviews and developing tailored proposals for stakeholders
- Collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams and using CRM data to drive decisions
- Staying ahead of market trends to ensure our focus brands remain competitive
- Expanding our brand footerprint in NHS settings and pushing our solutions forward
- Building strong, long-term relationships with senior clinical, procurement, and administrative stakeholders
You’ll play a critical role in ensuring our products make a meaningful difference to healthcare providers and patients alike.

What You’ll Need
To succeed in this role, bring:
Experience & Skill
- A proven track record in sales, with experience in value-based/portfolio selling in hospital and community settings
- Strong account management skills, including:
- Driving revenue growth and market share expansion
- Meeting benchmark sales KPIs
- Confidence in engaging with senior NHS stakeholders, including clinical leads, procurement managers, and administrators
- Excellent relationship-building abilities with both medical and non-medical professionals
Qualifications
- A degree in Life Sciences, Business Management, or an equivalent qualification is essential
- A valid driving license is required due to the high travel demand
Travel Requirements: >75% of your time will be spent on-the-road across your designated patch.
