About the Role

As we grow our Orthopaedics team in the East of England and South Midlands (covering Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, and Hertfordshire), we’re seeking a driven Account Manager to help shape the future of patient care through strategic sales leadership.
Bringing passion for building deep customer relationships and delivering value-based solutions in healthcare, this dynamic field-based role will challenge you to make a meaningful impact. Drive growth, advocate for our brands, and inspire change within NHS healthcare providers—right from the start.
Key Responsibilities
Modelling Strategic Growth
- Take full ownership of your territory’s key accounts, designing customised strategic plans to unlock new opportunities and maximise revenue potential.
- Lead Quarterly Business Reviews to build trust, assess value drivers, and refine proposals with clients.
- Collaborate across Smith+Nephew’s multidisciplinary teams, from marketing to procurement specialists, to ensure proposals align with business targets.
Customer Advocacy & Market Leadership
- Position our focused Orthopaedic brands as priority innovations in hospitals and community settings, ensuring they’re visible, valued, and adopted.
- Leverage data-driven insights from our CRM, market trends, and clinical endorsements to steer discussions with senior clinical and non-clinical stakeholders (e.g., NHS procurement teams).
- Advocate always for patient-centred outcomes—turning limited mobility back into Life. Unlimited.

Essential Requirements
- Proven track record in sales—most preferably with:
- Value and portfolio selling in healthcare (hospital or community settings).
- A demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and expand market share while maintaining strong relationships.

- Degree-level qualification (or equivalent experience) in life sciences, business, or a related field. While not mandatory, it serves as a strong foundation for understanding our clinical solutions.
- Full driving licence, since the role requires vast local travel to client sites (typically over 75% of your time).
