Account Manager – Paints & Coatings
Location: Blackley (Manchester), United Kingdom
Travel: Up to 40% throughout Europe
Job Type: Full-time, Hybrid (4 days office / 1 day remote)
About the Role
Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and build lasting partnerships in the Paints & Coatings sector across Europe by managing and growing key account relationships.
Drive profitable sales growth, expanding existing accounts while identifying new business opportunities.
Develop and execute tailored customer account strategies that align with industry trends, customer goals, and Lubrizol’s growth priorities.
Collaborate across teams – Technical, R&D, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Operations – to deliver innovative solutions to customers.
Provide technical and commercial expertise across Lubrizol’s portfolio, including:
- Hyper-dispersants
- Waxes
- Resins
- Polymers
- Dispersions
- Formulated solutions
Build and maintain a high-performing sales pipeline using Dynamics CRM, ensuring accurate forecasting and business planning.
Foster sustainable practices by promoting eco-friendly technologies that support compliance with evolving regulatory and environmental requirements.
Responsibilities

Customer Relationship Management:
- Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with European Paints & Coatings customers.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction and long-term retention.

Sales Growth & Opportunity Development:
- Drive growth through account expansion and new business acquisition.
- Identify and execute high-value commercial opportunities.

Strategic Account Planning:
- Develop and refine customer account strategies based on market trends and company objectives.
- Align solutions with customer needs and Lubrizol’s business priorities.

Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with Technical, R&D, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Operations teams.
- Translate customer requirements into actionable technical and commercial solutions.

Technical & Commercial Support:
- Deliver expert support across Lubrizol’s full product portfolio.
- Address customer queries on formulation, application, and industry applications.

CRM & Business Planning:
- Track opportunities, forecast sales, and align with business planning processes using Dynamics CRM.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales activity.

Sustainability & Compliance:
- Advocate for sustainable technology adoption among customers.
- Ensure solutions meet REACH regulations and environmental standards.
Requirements
Essential
-
Bachelor’s degree in one of the following (or related field):
- Business
- Chemistry
- Materials Science
- Chemical Engineering

Minimum 2+ years of experience in:
- Sales
- Technical sales
- Account management
- Business development

Proven success in:
- Building B2B customer relationships.
- Driving commercial growth in a client-facing role.

Valid driver’s license, with willingness to travel up to 40% throughout Europe.
