Role Summary and Impact
As a Programmatic Account Manager, you’ll optimise, drive, and innovate campaign strategies that exceed client expectations—whether branded or ROI-driven. Working alongside the Programmatic Account Director and global teams, you’ll deliver stellar programmatic strategy, insightful data analysis, and seamless execution aligned with WPP Open’s ecosystem.
- Reporting Structure: Reports to the Programmatic Account Director
Key Responsibilities:
Campaign Management
- Oversee campaign implementation, daily execution, and optimisation to meet client objectives and KPIs.
- Develop media plans focused on achieving specified KPIs.
- Take account of client testing plans, propose innovative solutions, and execute/evaluate tests with precise effectiveness.
- Understand internal programmatic products and solutions for broader strategy alignment.

Client and Partner Management
- Drive programmatic strategy for diverse client portfolios, ensuring alignment with objectives and KPIs.
- Deliver direct client servicing with regular updates (weekly calls, performance briefings) and detailed presentation of results.
- Foster strong relationships with vendors & partners to select optimal, decisive suppliers.
Team Development & Support
- Collaborate with the line manager to effectively mentor junior team members, balancing workloads, and prioritising training.
- Lead by example in nurturing growth, inspiration, and skill development across all team members.
Operational Excellence
- Utilise tools to drive programmatic accountability—buying efficiencies, actionable insights, and sponsored data analysis.
- Maintain financial accuracy, reconciling planning, buying, and programmatic fees (including client terms).
- Support QA assurance—minimising errors via consistent, accurate adherence to processes with local and Global Hub teams.
Skills and Experience
Programmatic Expertise
- Proven experience in programmatic activation, driving excellence with confidence on platforms such as DV360, TTD, and Amazon.
Analytical & Strategic Thinking
- Data-driven mindset, leveraging large data sets to identify trends and actionable programmatic insights.
- Develop and execute comprehensive testing roadmaps in programmatic spaces (audience, media, creative).
Communication
- Excellent interpersonal skills—critical for maintaining client and supplier relationships and explaining technical aspects to non-technical audiences.
Leadership & Team Support
- Ability to train, mentor, and guide junior colleagues, prioritising development under manager oversight.
