The Role
The Programmatic Account Manager will be responsible for the full campaign life cycle, including:
- Channel planning
- Managing campaign set-up
- Optimising campaigns
- Ensuring delivery to Wavemaker standards
- Reporting results directly to the client
This will also involve working with some brand uplift-focussed clients as well as those driving quality website traffic and direct sales. You will manage execution of managed IO and self-serve programmatic media activity, while working closely with both the Programmatic Account Director and Programmatic Account Executive (and in some cases, the global hub teams).
Key Responsibilities
Campaign Management
- Competently create innovative Display & Video media plans designed to achieve specified KPIs
- Ensure oversight of implementation, management, and daily optimisation of campaign activity, guaranteeing KPI success and client objectives
- Develop an understanding of WPP group solutions and products likely relevant to clients
- Own campaign testing plans, suggesting innovative ideas for testing (plan, execute, evaluate) with precision
- Develop understanding of the wider digital media mix and its role within it

Client & Partner Management
- Direct client servicing, with regular contact via weekly calls, campaign briefings, and detailed performance presentations
- Complete client reporting, analysing campaign results to extract insights for future direction
- Coordinate agencies and other service providers to select suitable suppliers for campaigns
People Management
- Collaborate with line managers to ensure effective management of junior team members within Delhi, prioritising workloads for deadline adherence
- Work alongside line managers and leadership to train and mentor junior team members, demonstrating strong work culture through example
- Maintain a strong working relationship with key stakeholders within the agency (particularly Ad Operations)
- Present insights in department meetings, share knowledge across the display team, and participate in Sprints to cultivate a collaborative, forward-thinking culture
Operational Excellence
- Use tools to drive accountability in programmatic buying, operational efficiency, and effective business insights – scoping appropriate client outputs
- Ensure financial accuracy, integrating planning/buying processes and reconciliation of spends via templates/defined workflows
- Support the daily QA process, minimising errors and ensuring consistency and adherence to process within local teams and Global Hubs
Skills & Experience
- Passionate about programmatic activation, driving excellence and innovation
- Nice-to-have experience trading on programmatic self-serve platforms, including: DV360, TTD, and Amazon
- Ability to translate complex technical points into digestible comprehendible insights for non-technical audiences or teams across an organisation
- Experience in people management and mentoring of junior team members
- Strong analytical mindset with a knack for extracting trends and actionable insight from large datasets
- Capability to develop and execute comprehensive testing roadmaps (e.g. audience, media, creative)
- Exceptional communication (verbal and written) skills crucial for stakeholder relationships – internal, with clients, and suppliers
- Ability to interact effectively with diverse teams across cultures, backgrounds, and geographies
