The Opportunity

Department: Transmission and Distribution

Reports to: Senior Business Development Director - Europe, Middle East & Far East

Hours per week: 37.5

We are looking for a self-motivated individual who is excited about becoming a key contributor within a dynamic team.

Accountabilities: How You Will Make an Impact

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Account Manager to join Kinectrics’ High Voltage Cable Testing division. This is an excellent opportunity to manage and grow revenue within a portfolio of established contractor accounts in a rapidly expanding market.

You will take ownership of key UK and Ireland accounts building strong relationships and identifying opportunities for further growth. This is not a cold-calling role; it is focused on strategic account management and development, ensuring Kinectrics is and remains positioned as the preferred partner for HV cable testing and related services for all of its clients.

You will report directly to the Kinectrics Group Senior Business Development Director, while also building strong working relationships with the European Managing Director and technical leads in the UK and Canada within the Transmission and Distribution business.

General Accountabilities

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans for Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors, focusing on long-term partnerships and revenue growth.
  • Manage and deepen relationships with key stakeholders (procurement, project managers, engineering leads).
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities for related services such as commissioning, diagnostics and forensics.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring exceptional service and technical support and build long term strategic partnerships with customers to ensure loyalty and retention.
  • Attend industry exhibitions and conferences across the UK and Europe to strengthen market presence.
  • Collaborate with internal technical teams to deliver tailored solutions and proposals.
  • Conduct quarterly review meetings and provide performance insights to clients.
  • Position Kinectrics early in project design phases to influence specifications and secure framework agreements.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes in the T&D sector.

What You Need To Succeed

  • Proven experience in account management or sales within the high voltage or related engineering industry (cables, substations, grid connections).
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to identify growth opportunities.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, ambitious, and able to work independently in a remote setting.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK and occasionally Europe.
  • Experience with industry CRM ideally Salesforce for production of accurate reporting and forecasting

Essential Competencies:

  • Commercial acumen.
  • Negotiating skills.
  • Understanding of the Power sector.
  • Ability to think strategically.
  • Understanding of supply chain.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Have a creative marketing side.

Essential Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy, Business Admin or related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in Key Account Management or B2B sales in Power, energy or utilities sector.
  • Proven track record in managing key accounts and achieving Sales and Revenue targets.
