Account Manager - Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS)
Location: South Wales
Yolk Recruitment is supporting an established and growing Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) business in their search for an experienced Account Manager to join their team in South Wales.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong technical background in electronics manufacturing who enjoys building customer relationships, managing complex projects, and working closely with engineering and production teams. You'll take ownership of key customer accounts, ensuring projects are delivered on time, to specification, and to the highest quality standards while identifying opportunities to grow existing business.
The Role
As an Account Manager, you'll act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of customers, managing both the commercial and technical aspects of their accounts. Working across engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, logistics, and estimating, you'll oversee projects from New Product Introduction (NPI) through to full production, ensuring customers receive a seamless service throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of assigned customer accounts within an Electronics Manufacturing Services environment.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, acting as the primary technical and commercial contact.
- Develop a thorough understanding of customer requirements and identify opportunities to increase account value.
- Manage customer expectations, engineering changes, and commercial discussions.
- Follow up quotations and customer orders to secure new and repeat business.
- Project manage customer programmes from development and NPI through to production and delivery.
- Work closely with engineering, estimating, purchasing, logistics, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Support business growth by identifying opportunities within existing customer accounts.
What we are looking for
To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in an Account Manager or Customer Service role within an Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) or Contract Electronics Manufacturing (CEM) business.
- Strong knowledge of cable and wire harness assembly.
- A good understanding of electronic components and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
- Experience managing technical customer discussions and manufacturing handovers.
- The ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Experience working collaboratively with engineering, production, and manufacturing teams.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- A highly organised approach with the ability to manage multiple customer projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
