Account Manager – Grocery / Fresh Produce - Office-Based
Our client is a well-established and highly respected supplier of premium fresh produce, which partners with the UK's leading grocery retailers. This is a unique opportunity for a commercially driven Account Manager to join its team and take ownership of a key retail account within the grocery channel.
As Account Manager, you will be responsible for the commercial performance of a major grocery retail account, managing category growth, sales performance, promotions, new product development, and customer relationships.
Working in a hugely collaborative environment, you will work closely with internal teams including Procurement, Marketing, Technical, Production, and Product Development to ensure successful delivery of category objectives and commercial targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop relationships with a major grocery retail customer.
- Take ownership of category performance, sales growth, and profitability.
- Analyse sales, market, and consumer data to identify opportunities and trends.
- Develop and deliver category plans, promotional strategies, and growth initiatives.
- Lead customer reviews and present commercial recommendations.
- Identify and drive new product development opportunities from concept through to launch.
- Negotiate promotional activity, pricing, and commercial agreements.
- Work collaboratively with suppliers and internal stakeholders to maximise performance.
- Monitor competitor activity and market developments.
- Support wider business growth through proactive account development and opportunity identification.

Skills & Experience Required
- Strong understanding of grocery retail and category management principles.
- Commercially astute with strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Ability to interpret sales and market data and convert insights into action.
- Confident presenter and relationship builder.
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
- Strong Excel and reporting capability.
- Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Positive attitude, resilience, and a collaborative approach.
- Commutable distance to the Birmingham area.
