Ribbon Bio, a growth-stage synthetic biology company based in Vienna, Austria, is redefining what's possible in synthetic DNA. Our proprietary algorithm-driven technology and precision enzymatic assembly processes enables us to manufacture long, complex DNA molecules in a completely cell-free manner. DNA molecules built without bacteria are ideal for a host of downstream applications in the pharma, biopharma, biotech, agbio, and academic research markets including cell & gene therapy R&D, vaccine development, gene editing, protein engineering, and DNA origami.
We're looking for an experienced Account Manager (m/f/d) to grow our customer base across the UK and continental Europe. The candidate should approach this role with a hunter-type mindset within our growing commercial team. The candidate will be tasked with maintaining and strengthening existing customer relationships while identifying, building, and nurturing new business to achieve revenue goals. To this end, we are seeking driven, growth-minded, customer-centric individuals who are team-oriented, highly communicative, and enjoy working in a fast-paced and evolving selling environment.

Tasks
- Serve as the primary commercial point of contact for customers across your territory, managing and strengthening relationships with existing customers while actively identifying and developing new ones.
- Listen effectively, ask relevant questions, and position our key product offerings based on specific customer needs to drive adoption, expansion, and awareness across our target market segments.
- Help gather and channel voice of customer feedback into the organization to help prioritize new features, product improvements and usher new products into the market as they move through commercialization.
- Own the full sales cycle for your territory. This includes converting your active funnel, expanding your funnel via prospecting and lead qualification activities, and regularly maintaining your pipeline and forecast in the CRM.
- Formulate territory business plans aligned to our commercial strategy, negotiate, and help draft, review, and deliver specialized customer agreements.
- Collaborate and communicate with product management, marketing, and customer success teams.

Requirements
- At least 3 to 5 years of direct sales experience in the synthetic DNA market.
- Bachelor’s degree in a life science discipline (biology, molecular biology, immunology, biochemistry, genetics/genomics, genome engineering, etc), a graduate degree is a plus.
- Self-motivated team-player who is goal-oriented, focused, and willing to step up and support activities that directly or indirectly impact their role. Seeking candidates who thrive in rapidly evolving synthetic biology markets and enjoy a dynamic and fast-moving work environment.
- Demonstrated organizational, time management, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Based in either the UK or within continental Europe, with proximity to reliable methods of transportation (air/train) to support up to 50% travel.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Technical knowledge of synthetic biology mediated applications is highly desired.
- Proficiency in Office 365 tools, including PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Comfort and familiarity with both manual and software-mediated data entry, quoting and CRM management (Salesforce and Slack experience a plus).
- Passionate about enabling customer success without compromising personal or professional integrity.
- Ability to efficiently problem-solve potential customer issues.
