Account Manager

Account Manager (Golf Course Portfolio) VERSANT (Nasdaq: VSNT)

About the Role

Primarily based in Belfast, the Account Manager will shape our golf course partnerships, driving revenue growth, nurturing long-term client relationships, and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction. This role is at the heart of relationship-driven business development, with a focus on adoption of best practices and maximisation of product usage.

Responsibilities

Core Duties & Growth Focus

  • Develop a deep understanding of Versant’s Account Management philosophy, industry trends, and customer needs to align strategies with business success.
  • Conduct regular client check-ins, performance reviews, and feedback sessions to identify scaling opportunities and growth potential.
  • Use consultative expertise to upsell new products/services, including dynamic pricing strategies and temporary optimisation of tee time inventory for platforms.
  • Leverage data-driven insights (via Salesforce and other tools) to tailor proposals, optimise service value, and tailor recommendations to meet clients’ success criteria.
  • Lead high-value accounts with proactive outreach (outbound engagement + inbound support), including onsite visits where beneficial, ensuring strong retention rates.
  • Act as a brand advocate for Versant’s products/services, consistently representing partners in a way that enhances their visibility on our platforms.
  • Unique responsibility: Dynamic pricing in the golf industry—educate partners and implement strategies that balance revenue objectives with course partner profitability.
  • Drive contract renewals, retention efforts, and client satisfaction across assigned UK & Irish regions, with a focus on high-potential counties.

Cutting-Edge Management Initiatives

  • Maintain an accurate Salesforce activity log daily, documenting all client interactions and revenue-driving engagements.
  • Collaborate with senior management and international teams to foster a thriving company culture aligned with Versant’s core values.
  • Work closely with internal/external stakeholders to refine client strategies and contribute to innovation (e.g., befitting Golf’s ‘Great Place to Work’ initiative).

Performance Metrics & Outcomes

  • Accountable for growth in assigned regions, including target exceeding and revenue retention.
  • Incentivised to mentor clients through onboarding/testing, while instilling confidence in Versant’s value proposition.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • 1+ years’ experience in Sales or Account Management (preferable in e-commerce, technology, or golf-related domains) with a portfolio of assigned customer accounts.
  • Proven critical thinking, negotiation skills, and ability to manage complex relationships while aligning with business objectives.
  • Experience analysing client data, delivering formalinies, and justifying recommendations based on actionable insights.
  • Technically competent in CRM tools such as Salesforce, sales automation, or marketing automation platforms.
  • A results-oriented mindset with a track record of meeting or beating targets and proactively problem-solving.
  • Flexibility to travel for client/demand meetings.

Desirable Skillset

  • Degree education in a business-related field (Marketing, IT, or Economics).
  • Prior golf industry familiarity or understanding of UK markets.
  • Customer-centric CRM—familiarity with portfolio management tools that enhance client retention.
