Account Manager – Workwear Uniform Group Ltd (WWUGL)

Workwear Uniform Group Ltd (WWUGL) is a leader in the sourcing, design, manufacture and distribution of technical workwear, PPE, and bespoke corporate uniforms.

With an annual turnover of £100m and an international presence, the Group comprises multiple brands specialising in different aspects of the workwear lifecycle, offering cradle-to-grave solutions to household brands across sectors including construction, healthcare, rail, logistics, banking, retail, and tourism.

You’ll play a central role in driving growth for two key brands:

  • Direct Corporate Clothing (off-the-shelf PPE and workwear contract specialists)
  • Incorporatewear (bespoke corporate uniform specialists)

Additionally, you’ll help establish WWUGL as a renowned brand in its own right.


Job Purpose

As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for the ongoing management and development of Direct Corporate Clothing’s (ICW’s) client base. Your role includes ensuring contractual obligations are met in full, covering:

  • Maintenance of margins
  • Effective stock management
  • Accurate forecasting of client spend
  • On-time, in-full delivery of customer rollouts via project planning and internal coordination
  • Provision of customer KPI reporting
  • Adherence to service level agreements (SLAs)

You will also proactively grow sales through organic growth, cross-selling, and enhancing client retention via contract extensions and tender activity.


Responsibilities

Client & Contract Management

  • Full contract management and client relationship responsibility
  • Retain clients through contract extensions and active participation in tendering processes
  • Manage aged debt with clients as requested
  • Monitor and report on external debt status
  • Oversee the Account Administrator

Sales & Development

  • Drive sales growth through cross-selling opportunities
  • Foster account development to identify organic growth

Operational & Financial Accountability

  • Ensure margin protection via pricing reviews and maintenance of price files
  • Meet service level agreements (SLAs) for garment delivery
  • Accurately forecast client spend
  • Maintain precise client data, including wardrobe profiles

Reporting & Stakeholder Management

  • Provide KPI and ad-hoc reporting
  • Meet regularly with internal teams (cross-functional collaboration)
  • Conduct frequent virtual and in-person customer meetings
  • Travel to customers as needed

Compliance & Training

  • Maintain awareness of company’s ISO 19001, 14001, and 45001 accreditations
  • Attend annual company training and refresher courses

Miscellaneous Responsibilities

  • Undertake additional tasks or duties as requested by management

Experience Required

  • Proven experience in B2B account management
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organised, with a flexible and adaptable approach
  • Knowledge of internal reporting systems
  • Pragmatic and practical skills in management and client development
  • Understanding of situations requiring customer empathy
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proven sales track record
  • Skilled negotiator in sales engagements
  • Proficiency in project and time management
  • Familiarity with the textile or garment industry (desirable)
  • Expertise in Excel and IT systems
  • Previous experience in corporate clothing (preferred but not essential)

Textile/Manufacturing Advantages

  • Experience in textile development
  • Understanding of offshore manufacturing processes

Minimum Education Requirements

  • GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C or equivalent)
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Knowledge of European languages is beneficial
