Salary: £30-40k plus OTE
Role Overview
As a Waste Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing and developing an existing portfolio of commercial waste clients while driving new business growth. You will be the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring a high level of service, resolving day-to-day queries and identifying opportunities to improve their waste solutions. You will also build strong supplier relationships, negotiate competitive outcomes and work closely with internal teams to deliver an excellent customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage an existing portfolio of waste management clients, ensuring excellent service and long-term retention.
- Respond to customer enquiries, resolve issues efficiently and provide proactive account support.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities through prospecting, referrals, networking and cross-selling to existing utility clients.
- Prepare quotations, proposals and contract renewals, following opportunities through to successful completion.
- Develop strong relationships with waste suppliers to secure competitive pricing, service levels and innovative solutions.
- Monitor customer contracts and renewal dates, ensuring clients remain on the most appropriate solutions.
- Liaise with internal sales, operations and account management teams to ensure seamless onboarding and ongoing service delivery.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, sales activity and pipeline reporting.
- Keep up to date with market trends, legislation and supplier offerings to provide informed advice to clients.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the growth of the waste division.

What We're Looking For
- Experience in account management, business development or B2B sales (waste, utilities or facilities management desirable).
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A commercial mindset with a proven ability to identify and convert sales opportunities.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Self-motivated, driven and able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
