Accountancy Practice Director – Canterbury
Exclusive to TPF Recruitment, we are supporting a respected and growing firm of chartered accountants in Canterbury looking to appoint an Accountancy Practice Director. This is a senior leadership role within a well-established practice planning for continued growth and long-term succession.
About the Opportunity
A key attraction of this role is the flexibility on offer. The position will be tailored around the successful candidate’s experience, strengths, and long-term aspirations. Whether your background is in general practice or includes specialist technical knowledge in areas such as:
- VAT
- Stamp Duty
- Probate
- Forensic accounting
- Niche sector specialisms (e.g., not-for-profit, agriculture, manufacturing, construction)

Key Responsibilities
- Leading and developing a varied client portfolio
- Providing high-level technical support across accounts and tax
- Taking an active role in business development, including networking, tendering, and driving new client acquisitions
- Playing a central role in strategic planning and long-term growth
- Building strong client relationships and identifying new opportunities
- Supporting and mentoring the wider team to ensure continuing development
- Contributing to the senior leadership team
Requirements
- ACA/ACCA qualified with minimum 5 years of practice experience
- Previous senior roles as a Manager, Senior Manager, or Partner within an accountancy practice, demonstrating depth of expertise
- Experience in client management, people management, and/or business development would be advantageous

Salary & Benefits
- Competitive remuneration package: £70,000 – £100,000+ (dependent on experience)
