Accountancy Trainee - Start Date: September 2026
You’ll be supported from day one, learning from experienced colleagues while gaining hands-on experience.
What you'll need
- Right to work in the UK from your start date.
- England & Wales: Level 4+ GCSE English & Maths.
- Minimum of 96 UCAS points.
- Scotland: 4 Highers, grade B or above, including English & Maths.
- Note: this role is not suitable if you are currently studying for, or already hold, an undergraduate or master’s degree.

What is ABAS?
ABAS stands for Accounts, Advisory, or Business Services. You might hear these names used individually, but they’re all part of the same team. We help businesses understand their finances, meet deadlines, and make smart decisions.
Your role in the ABAS team
- Prepare accounts and reports for real clients.
- Support clients with day-to-day finance tasks and practical business queries.
- Use cloud and AI tools to make processes easier and more efficient.
- Learn how businesses operate and discover ways to help them improve.
- Develop communication, teamwork, and client care skills in a structured environment.

Your Training & Support
- You’ll start by learning the basics of accounting and tax, alongside key skills like working with others and supporting clients.
- You’ll be part of a friendly team, with mentoring and hands-on experience from day one.
- You’ll also have access to the latest digital tools, including cloud and AI technology, with support from our Digital Success Community to help you grow your tech skills.
Qualifications
- You'll be part of our AAT programme, a recognised professional qualification for those starting a career in accounting.
