Role Description
The Accountant will work on-site in High Wycombe in a full-time capacity, supporting a broad portfolio of clients with their accounting and tax needs. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements
- Managing bookkeeping
- Processing payroll
- Handling VAT returns and tax computations
- Assisting with self-employment and property accounts
- Business accounts management
- Corporation tax
- Self-assessment filings

The Accountant will communicate directly with clients to understand their specific requirements, provide clear explanations of financial information, and recommend compliant, efficient solutions. The position also requires:

Qualifications
- Strong technical accounting skills, including preparation of financial statements, management accounts, and reconciliations.
- Proficiency in tax-related work such as self-assessment, corporation tax, VAT returns, and payroll processing.
- Experience with bookkeeping and use of accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero or similar tools).
- Client service skills, including clear written and verbal communication, relationship management, and a personalized, solution-focused approach.
- Attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and confidence working with deadlines.
- Relevant professional qualification or progress toward one (e.g., AAT, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent), or substantial practical experience in an accounting practice.
- Ability to work on-site in High Wycombe, collaborate effectively with the team, and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Familiarity with UK accounting and tax regulations; prior experience in a practice environment is highly beneficial.
