Location & Hybrid Working
- Current: Bradford (until September 2026 – relocating to Leeds Valley Park)
- Hybrid model: Minimum 1 day per week in office (Bradford/Leeds)
- Full-time permanent role: 37 hours/week (Mon-Fri)

The Role: Accountant
As part of the Accounting & Control Finance Team, you’ll play a vital role in delivering efficient and reliable financial services across the Kelda Group, supporting regulatory compliance and the department’s overall objectives.

Key Responsibilities
You’ll be responsible for the following areas, ensuring high standards of financial integrity and operational excellence:

Compliance & Regulatory Support:
- Ensure Health & Safety obligations and all regulatory requirements are met.
- Maintain accountability for accounting and reporting standards.

Reporting & Financial Integrity:
- Manage financial ledger activities to meet all statutory and regulatory deadlines.
- Develop and enhance financial systems and processes based on SAP.
- Maintain policies and procedures, ensuring they’re well-documented.

Financial Controls & Deadlines:
- Execute accruals, journals, and financial closures accurately and on time.
- Oversee monthly audit journals and provide timely review.

Collaborative & Cross-Functional Support:
- Lead or contribute to ad-hoc finance projects.
- Build strong relationships across Finance, corporate functions, and the wider team.

Daily Operations & Re reconciliations:
- Review and approve SAP, Excel, and Trantech Working Capital reconciliations.
- Assist in the business planning process as needed.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications & Experience
- Part-qualified or fully qualified in accounting (experience may also be considered).
- Experience in Regulatory & statutory accounting roles.
Key Skills
- Ability to work flexibly within a team and independently.
- Strong networking skills for internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills—able to explain financial concepts to non-specialists.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel skills.
- Comfortable with financial systems and business processes.
