Management Accountant
Financial Management Team
£40,777 – £46,142 per annum | Permanent, Full-Time, 37 hours per week Flexible hybrid working

About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Management Accountant to join the Financial Management Team at Lancashire County Council.
In this key accountability role, you will play a vital part in supporting the financial stability of the council by monitoring budgets, reserves, and longer-term financial planning.

The successful candidate will have:

The Successful Candidate Will Be:
- Highly motivated, self-starter with a proactive and innovative mindset
- Skilled in advanced Excel, with experience navigating accounting systems and ICT applications
- A confident communicator able to build strong stakeholder relationships
- Flexible and adaptable, excelling at time management and prioritisation in fast-paced environments
Ideal qualifications/experience:
- Partially or fully CCAB/AAT qualified
- Qualified by experience in a similar role
The Role Expectations
Core Responsibilities
- Financial monitoring: Track finances across services, including reservations, medium-term strategy plans, and performance against targets.
- Strategic advice: Collaborate with service teams to prioritise funding decisions. Involves challenging budget discussions where necessary.
- Clear communication: Translate complex financial data into key insights for senior leaders and Members.
- Data proficiency: Analyse and interpret large volumes of financial data effectively.
- Reactively & proactively: Address ad hoc queries with flexibility and swift execution, enabling the team to meet varying priorities.
