Client Accountant
Full-time, Permanent
Location: London, United Kingdom
Working Arrangement: Hybrid – 3 days Onsite
About the Role
The Capital Markets Europe team offers institutional clients a comprehensive range of specialist debt and capital markets administration services. In this position, you will support senior client accountants and management by delivering accounting and financial services for capital market transactions.
This role is ideal for an ambitious, energetic accountant eager to progress in a dynamic, fast-growing business.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the following core tasks:
- Setting up and maintaining the general ledger for new/existing clients by conducting transaction research and determining the appropriate accounting treatment for Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs)
- Posting journal entries and maintaining up-to-date accounting records for a portfolio of SPVs
- Preparing annual statutory financial statements, including notes and disclosures, under IFRS or local GAAP, ensuring compliance with company law
- Liaising with auditors to produce audited financial statements on schedule for statutory and regulatory deadlines
- Generating routine monthly/quarterly management accounts and preparing additional client deliverables
- Preparing and filing:
- Quarterly regulatory returns for the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI)
- VAT returns, corporation tax returns
- iXBRL-tagged financials
- Resolving technical accounting issues by collaborating closely with stakeholders
- Supporting the accounting team in driving process improvement and operational efficiency
- Gaining expertise in a diverse range of capital markets structures and products

Requirements & Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should have:
- A qualified ACA or ACCA status
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar role within an accounting firm or financial services company
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, complemented by audit experience
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- A proactive problem-solving mindset and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- High attention to detail, with a conscientious and diligent approach to work
- A professional, friendly, and enthusiastic demeanour
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
