Role Overview
Change Accountancy and Finance are supporting our client as they look to hire an Accountant on an initial 6-month basis, to partner their business with month-end and a range of business performance reporting. The role will be varied, supporting a large organisation, engaging closely with the business to discuss their accounts and take an active role in month-end reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing month-end management accounts with supporting commentary and analysis
- Completion of consolidated accounts review and adjustments as required
- Balance sheet reconciliations and reporting of discrepancies
- Management of fixed assets register
- Ownership of general ledger postings and adjustments
- During year-end, working closely with auditors as required
- Confident using Excel to manipulate data as required

Requirements
Applicants for the role must be qualified and be able to demonstrate a strength in month-end and year-end accounting to be successful and get up to speed quickly. Added to this, the role requires an individual with strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to engage with a diverse group of stakeholders.

The opportunity has scope to be extended past the initial period and is joining one of Edinburgh's leading businesses, which will give access to complex accounting and a supportive team. Applicants will be able to show a strength in month-end and year-end close activity, whether this is from a Practice Firm or another business.
Applicants must be able to start at short notice due to reporting deadlines and training.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: £250 - £300p/d
- Hybrid Working: 3 days in office
- Start date: August
