Salary: £41,593 - £51,992 (depending on experience)
Hours: Full Time, Permanent, 37.5 hours per week

About Caterpillar Skinningrove
Caterpillar Skinningrove, located near Teeside, began operations in 1998. The facility produces steel track shoes. When mounted on the track link assembly, the track shoes form the 'Cat track' found on Hydraulic Excavators, Track Type Loaders, and Track Type Tractors.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a conscientious Accountant to provide support and structure to the operating unit at our Caterpillar Skinningrove facility.
This role reports into the Accounting Manager of our Skinningrove Facility.
Job duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Develop an expanded understanding of Caterpillar’s business and accounting practices, systems, and procedures whilst applying accounting knowledge.
- Exposure to a variety of accounting functions and will perform a high level of compilation with a broad range of analysis work.
- Review clerical input, advise salaried employees and entry-level accountants, generate reports, and provide related commentary.
- Review and validate relevant data and data sources, analyse information, and provide feedback.
- Estimating various forecast and budget scenarios as needed based on changing business conditions.
- Cost accounting / decision support including: normals & machine rate development, determining Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and standard cost setting and analysis. Financial accounting including preparation of journal entries, financial statements, trend marginal variance analysis, and account reconciliations.
- Inventory accounting and standard cost revision.
- Development and maintenance of internal controls, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) control documentation.
- Interacts with multiple functional areas and levels of authority.
- The Accountant is capable of handling complex accounting issues such as: reconciliation between forecasts and actual for multiple entities interpretation of results, capital assets justifications current product cost monitoring establishing and monitoring target costs inventory valuation intercompany transactions sales and sales cost of sales reporting.

Degree Requirement
Degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience.

- Accounting: Knowledge of accounting methods, processes, and tools; ability to maintain and prepare financial statements and reports using accounting methods and processes.
- Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
- Financial Reporting: Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports

Top Candidates Will Have
- CIMA or ACCA
- Experience in a finance function within Manufacturing Environments is beneficial
- Confidently makes informed decisions, works independently, and takes ownership of tasks through to successful completion.
Additional Information
- Hours: Full Time - 37.50 at the Skinningrove facility
- This position requires the candidate to work a 5 day a week schedule in the office
- Travel: Not associated with this Role
- Interviews for this position will be starting for the week commencing 10th of August 2026, final interviews will be arranged for week commencing 24th of August 2026.
