To learn more about Baptist Health, visit us at https://www.baptistfirst.org. Highlights: Summary: The Accountant II shall be responsible to prepare and issue monthly financial statements. This individual is responsible for the monthly journal entries and analytical review of general ledger accounts to include the P&L and Balance Sheet. The Accountant will assist with federal, state, and local reporting requirements for all Baptist Health companies which includes preparation of corporate, partnership, 5500, 990, and 990-T returns. Additionally, the Accountant will assist with year end audit to include analysis, audit report, and footnotes. The Accountant will also assist with the audits of the benefit plans of Baptist Health. This individual will assist with the training of staff accountants. The Accountant may be tasked to complete other special projects as assigned by the CFO, Director of Finance, or Controller. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role. Education/Experience: BS in Business Administration with Major in Accounting or equivalent experience. Certified Public Accountant recommended or equivalent industry experience. Minimum 4 years experience in public or industrial. License/Certification: CPA preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Health care financial terminology familiarity • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. • Knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures. • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment • Knowledge of basic Windows based PC operations. • Excellent organizational skills. • Strong analytical skills. Work Conditions/Physical Requirements: Position requires sitting for 80% of the workday and mobility 20% of the workday. There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action. Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds. There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person. Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range. Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels. Much exposure to computer work. Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock. Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks. Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.
