Qualified Accountant Role in Forward-Thinking Maidenhead Practice
About the Role
Our client seeks a qualified Accountant, currently employed in a UK accountancy practice, to join their growing independent accountancy team based on the northern outskirts of Maidenhead. The ideal candidate will have ACA or ACCA qualification with experience within an accountancy practice.
This role offers the opportunity to:
- Work across a mixed client portfolio
- Expand experience in a client-facing role with steady career progression
- Enhance expertise in diverse accounting sectors
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Partners, this client-facing Accountant will primarily:
- Client management
- Act as first point of contact and address client queries promptly
- Develop and manage a personal portfolio of clients

Financial preparation & compliance
- Prepare statutory accounts for SMEs, limited companies, sole traders, and larger corporations
- Produce management accounts and VAT returns, including complex VAT work

Tax advisory (potential scope)
- Support across personal and corporate tax compliance and advisory tasks

Team support & mentoring
- Nurture junior team members
- Advise partners on client matters

Fieldwork & flexibility
- Visit client sites as required
Requirements
Essential qualifications & experience:
- Hold ACA or ACCA qualification (exceptional semi-senior candidates at adjusted salary considered)
- Minimum relevant experience within a UK accountancy practice

Technical expertise & skills:
- Strong grasp of accounting standards, corporation tax, income tax, and VAT
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with accounting/taxation, and practice management software preferred

- Team player with strong initiative
- Excellent written & verbal communication
- Client-centric mindset with ownership responsibly
