Location: Endeavour House, Ipswich, IP1 2BX – Hybrid Salary: £34,434 per annum (pro rata for part time) Hours: 37 per week (flexible working options available) Contract: Permanent

Your Role and Responsibilities
This Financial Management opportunity thrives at the heart of Suffolk County Council, extending critical financial support to directorates. Your core functions encompass:

Budget and forecasting/decision-support:
- Input and analyse financial data to drive strategic choices, optimising resource allocation.
- Present financial insights clearly to non-financial colleagues, empowering informed decisions.

Risk and performance monitoring:
- Foster financial discipline across the council by refining processes, identifying cost-savings, and championing best practices.
- Compile reconciliations, reports, and statutory accounts for senior leaders—ensuring transparency and accuracy.

State & predictive analysis:
- Produce detailed financial reports for management, maintaining systems integrity and guiding strategic change.
Working collaboratively within a dynamic Finance team, your input will ensure economic efficiency targets align with serving Suffolk’s communities.
Required Skills & Experience
- Hold or pursue:
- AAT qualification, or a CCAB-exempt alternative (e.g., CIPFA, CIMA, or ACCA)
- Equivalent expertise if formal qualifications are unavailable

Experience in finance, controlling budgets, or related fields

Technical proficiency:
- Excel adeptness ('data analysis' + 'reconciliation')
- Multi-system accuracy, interpreting complex datasets
