Accounting Expert
As a local accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of financial data, compliance with local accounting regulations, and contributing to the overall success of our company's financial operations. The local accountant is involved in the general accounting activities, analyses, controlling partnership and the support of effective internal controls respecting the locally accepted accounting principles, and Group Standards. The division You will join AXA Group Operations Finance. This division drives and monitors Group Operations strategic plan, sets budgets and efficiency targets, follows up and controls actuals versus budget targets, while providing timely, accurate and adequate financial information to enable thorough decision-making and ensuring compliance with local regulations. Our main missions: Drive and monitor AXA GO strategic plan, budgets and efficiency targets. Track and control actuals compared to budget targets Establish and maintain cost accounting for AXA GO Define mechanisms for cost recharging to Entities, set rules to account for the financial implications of services provided, and monitor cash management Prepare and provide financial statements in compliance with regulatory requirements, ensure adherence to local and international tax regulations Coordinate and manage M&A projects (divestitures, internal transfer, business transfer) at AXA GO level Our division is composed of several departments with respective accountabilities: Controlling Commercial Finance Accounting Corporate Finance Finance Transformation About the job Main missions Accountable for closings, financial statements & tax returns Manage and oversee the day-to-day accounting activities for the local entity, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, tax returns and financial reporting. Ensure that all the reporting deadlines are met according to global closing calendar with respect to P&L and Balance Sheet. Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements. Ensure compliance with AXA Group Financial standards. Ensure the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Participate in internal audits. Lead the external audits and provide necessary documentation and support as required. Contribute to process improvements and the implementation of best practices in accounting and financial reporting. Maintain effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Be the subject matter expert with regards to technical accounting topics within the jurisdiction and provide insights and advice to wider finance function. Ability to work with and communicate effectively with senior leadership team. Expected skills & experience We are looking for someone with the following experience and skills: Experience Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field 5- 10 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on local accounting practices and regulations in UK Skills Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; advanced knowledge of MS Office tools… Strong understanding of local tax laws, regulatory compliance, and financial reporting requirements. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, time management and communication skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multicultural environment and work effectively within a multinational team.
