You will be a key member of the Accounting, Insight and Advisory (AIA) team within the growing national Finance Function Support solution. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of private, SME businesses within the Northern region. Your role will have a focus on building relationships with clients and leading a premium year-end service whilst also being on hand to support your clients by staying in regular communication with them throughout the year.
Your role will involve reviewing the work of Assistants and Supervisors, playing a key part in their development and ensuring the team is well utilised at all levels. You will report directly to Partners and Directors.
The fast growth of the department will create opportunities to develop business development skills. It will also present an opportunity to expand your internal network and work with a variety of colleagues, service lines and industry specialists across the UK. A strong understanding of FRS 102 and FRS 105 is essential.

You’ll Make An Impact By
- Managing and overseeing the Accounting, Insight and Advisory (AIA) team.
- Managing a portfolio of clients primarily reporting under FRS 102 and FRS 105.
- Being responsible for budgeting, WIP management and billing for client portfolio.
- Managing and developing team members through coaching, training, and mentoring to enhance their skills and facilitate their professional growth.
- Demonstrating an ability to project manage the end-to-end process of your engagements including driving the timeline, management of the client and team, the review process and overall delivery of the project.
- Liaising with other departments (in particular, colleagues from our tax department) within the office/region, to ensure that agreed deadlines are met and significant issues are resolved in a timely manner

We value diverse experiences and perspectives. Here’s what we’re looking for in our ideal candidate:
- Fully Qualified Accountant – ACA/ACCA.
- Strong technical skills, including FRS 102 and FRS 105 experience.
- Experience of working in a professional practice, ideally in an equivalent accounting advisory team.
- Working knowledge of Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and/or other cloud accounting packages.
- Good organisation skills, ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of CCH or similar professional accounts preparation packages.
- Experience of managing and oversee a team within financial services, including training, coaching, and performance management.
- Able to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients
