Accounting Manager
Accounting Manager – London Finance Team

The Role
We are currently hiring for an Accounting Manager in our London Finance team, reporting to the Financial Controller.
In this role, you will take ownership of:
- Underwriting results reporting
- The month-end accounting process, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and strong financial control across complex insurance data.
What You’ll Be Doing

Underwriting results delivery Lead the timely and accurate production of monthly, quarterly, and annual underwriting results, including:
- Premiums
- Claims
- Reserves
- Acquisition costs

Month-end ownership Manage and continuously improve the end-to-end month-end accounting process, with a focus on strong controls and efficient delivery.

Financial control & reconciliations Oversee reconciliations and technical balance controls, ensuring:
- Completeness
- Accuracy
- Compliance with accounting standards

Team leadership Lead, develop, and motivate a small team of accountants, driving high performance and collaboration.

Stakeholder collaboration Partner with FP&A, actuarial, reinsurance, and regulatory teams, as well as auditors and head office, to deliver accurate financial insights and reporting.
What We’re Looking For

Professional qualification
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.

Technical expertise
- Strong knowledge of insurance accounting, including:
- Lloyd’s and company market principles.

Leadership capability
- Proven experience managing and developing accounting teams.

Analytical strength
- Ability to interpret complex datasets and solve problems effectively.

Systems & tools
- Advanced Excel skills, with exposure to:
- Alteryx, SQL, or financial platforms (advantageous).
