Overview Accounting Team Lead Location: Oxford / Hybrid Working Period: Full time / 12 month's Fixed-term Contract (Maternity Cover) Start date: 1st September 2026 Reports to: Head of Reporting and Planning Salary: £52,000 - £58,000 Role closes for applications 30th June 2026 Key Objectives of the Role Yugo is the trusted name for student housing, globally. The Accounting Team Lead is responsible for the management of accounting, financial planning, reporting, analysis, as well as driving commercial and operational value in the business by supporting strategic initiatives and influencing decisions. The successful candidate will be supported by four Management Accountants to deliver accurate management accounts and performance reports in a timely manner for up to 30 properties managed by Yugo across Europe. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee a team of Management Accountants ensuring that timely and accurate delivery of monthly management accounts and investor reporting across Spain and Germany regions. Serve as the primary finance contact for investors, portfolio managers and operational stakeholders providing expert guidance on reporting requirements and financial performance. Liaise and coordinate with Yugo Operations to support in the preparation of budgets and reforecasting as part of the annual planning processes. Challenge assumptions and support informed decision-making. Deliver insightful financial analysis and performance reporting, identifying trends, risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Champion continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and resolving legacy issues, implementing best practices, and supporting finance transformation and process opitmisation projects. Partner with operational teams to optimise expenditure, improve profitability and support business performance objectives. Foster strong cross-functional relationships across the wider finance function and operations, acting as a subject matter expert for any local reporting requirements. Guide, coah and develop the management accountants to deliver against agreed targets and KPIs, promoting high performance, professional growth, and a culture of accountability and excellence. Time management - Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise appropriately. Can work independently and in a team, hybrid and in the office work environment and be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Interpersonal skills – Excellent communication skills across multiple stakeholders. Building trust - Ability to engage and influence multiple stakeholders, build constructive relationships and manage expectations. Problem solving – High-level analytical and problem solving skills. Commercial mindset - Ability to think strategically and spot opportunities for revenue growth or cost savings.
