Accounts Administrator (Part Time)

Are you an organised Accounts Administrator with an eye for detail and a head for numbers?

Location: Wakefield, WF1 – office based, no remote working

Pay: £26,000–£30,000 FTE, pro rata for 20–25 hours per week, depending on experience

Hours: 20–25 hours per week, with flexibility around working patterns within Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm

We’re looking for a sharp, organised Accounts Administrator to join a busy finance team. This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced Accounts Administrator or finance professional who enjoys variety, accuracy and keeping everything running like clockwork.

As an Accounts Administrator, you’ll support day-to-day finance operations, manage accurate records and work across accounts, payroll preparation and HR administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and update financial records using Excel and SAP
  • Process supplier invoices and accounts payable transactions
  • Enter daily cash receipts and bank transactions
  • Prepare bank payments and transfers
  • Complete bank and finance reconciliations
  • Liaise with customers to reduce aged debt and maintain targets
  • Input and check timesheets ahead of payroll
  • Maintain holiday, sickness and absence records
  • Follow financial policies and procedures
  • Suggest improvements to accuracy, efficiency and costs
  • Support ad hoc projects and tasks

Essential Qualifications/Skills & Must Haves

  • Previous accounting or administration experience
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable and reconciliations
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a busy team
  • Comfortable using accounting systems and Excel

Desirable: SAP experience would be a bonus, but it’s not essential – full training will be provided.
