Theataccounts are a specialist accountancy practice who work exclusively with clients in the entertainment industry and are continuing to grow at a significant rate. This is a great opportunity for a confident and dynamic individual to join their growing apprenticeship programme to progress their career in accounts.
What you'll do at work
- Assistance with the preparation and submission of financial accounts, tax returns, general bookkeeping, PAYE and VAT returns
- Working with spreadsheets, digital accounting, manual records, bank statements and software
- Liaising with clients via telephone and email in order to assist with their enquiry or to request information
- General office administration duties
- Plan workload to ensure efficient use of time and resources
- Develop knowledge, skills and professional behaviours in line with the criteria within the apprenticeship standard

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Record transactional data.
- Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
- Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
- Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
- Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
- Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
- Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Training schedule
Accounts or Finance Assistant (Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard):
- An apprenticeship in accounting is split between employment with the firm and external studies, including:
- Mandatory weekly day release at HoW College to either Worcester or Bromsgrove Campus
- Additional work-based training developing knowledge, skills and behaviours related to your role

Your apprenticeship will include mandatory day release at HoW College to either Worcester or Bromsgrove campus, along with support from a Learning Skills Development Officer (LSDO) who will guide and support you through the process, help you prepare for end-point assessment (EPA) and also carry out progress reviews with your manager.
Essential qualifications
- GCSE in:
- Maths and English (grade 4)

Other requirements
Theataccounts is in Droitwich and college day release will be in either Bromsgrove or Worcester. Important: Please note that you need minimum Grade 4 maths and English GCSE (or Level 2 Functional Skills) to be able to do this apprenticeship programme and we will require evidence of this before you can formally start your apprenticeship programme.
