Accounts Apprentice
We’re looking for a motivated, eager to learn, Accounts Apprentice to join our Head Office in Poole. You’ll gain hands on experience working within a fast-paced environment, becoming an integral part of our accounts team!
As an Accounts Apprentice, you will support the smooth running of our finance function by assisting with daily banking, reconciliations and general cashbook duties. You’ll help identify and process payments in and out, process supplier invoices with accuracy, ensure transactions are properly authorised, support credit control activity and prepare reports on unpaid cash sales.
While gaining hands-on experience within a busy accounts team, we will support your education by enrolling you on an AAT qualification, providing dedicated study time, learning materials, and full coverage of exam costs to help you succeed.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Daily banking and reconciliations
- General cashbook – identification and processing of all payments in and out
- Process supplier invoices and ensure accuracy and authorisation of all transactions
- Credit control
- Prepare and report unpaid cash sales
What you will need to be an Accounts Apprentice within Van Mossel UK:
- Eagerness to learn: Accountancy is full of systems, rules, and processes. Showing a genuine interest in building knowledge goes a long way
- Integrity and reliability: You’ll often be trusted with sensitive financial information. Being dependable and discreet is essential
- Attention to detail: Accuracy is everything in finance. Mistakes, no matter how small, can have big consequences
- Numerical confidence: You don’t need to be a math wizard, but comfort with numbers and problem-solving is key
- Work collaboratively: and well in a team environment
- Adaptability: In a fast-paced environment like Van Mossel UK, being able to stay calm under pressure and pick up new tools or tasks is a huge plus

Hours of work will be: 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday - 8.00 am to 5.00 pm
What you will get in return:
- Year 1 apprentice salary of £16,640 / £8 per hour
- Year 2 apprentice salary of £26,436 / £12.71 per hour
