Part-Time Accounts Assistant
Location: Donnelly & Taggart, Ballymena
About the Role
The Accounts Assistant will support the accurate and timely preparation of company accounts, ensuring compliance with group, manufacturer, and industry guidelines. This part-time role offers flexibility in working hours.
Key responsibilities include:
Sales Ledger Support
- Preparation of daily bank lodgements
- Monthly reconciliation of sales ledger accounts
- Assistance with credit management
- Preparation of monthly end-of-month statements
Purchase Ledger Management
- Processing and verification/coding of purchase invoices
- Scanning, archiving, and systematic storage of records
- Reconciliation of monthly supplier statements
General Accounting Duties
- Posting receipts and payments from bank accounts
- Assistance with balance sheet reconciliations
- Support with ad-hoc accounting tasks as required
Person Specification
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in a busy accounts office
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office packages
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisational abilities, including:
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Effective workload planning for deadline adherence
- GCSE pass in Mathematics and English (or equivalent)

Desirable
- Experience using accounting software (e.g., Sage)
- Any further qualification in finance/accountancy
Full training will be provided on all systems and processes to support compliance with Donnelly Group standards.
