Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our team. This role is ideally suited for someone who is AAT qualified or in the process of gaining their AAT qualification. Candidates qualified by experience will be considered. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our accountants with various tasks and ensuring our clients receive top-quality service.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing accounts for a variety of clients, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with current regulations.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of Making Tax Digital (MTD) Returns.
- Assist in the preparation of corporate and personal tax returns.
- Manage and process PAYE and CIS returns accurately and timely.
- Undertake monthly bookkeeping processes.
- Perform reconciliations of bank statements and client accounts.
Requirements
- Previous experience in an accountancy practice is highly desirable.
- Experience using online accounting packages such as Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks is desirable. Training will be provided if no prior experience.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- An ability to manage and prioritise work on clients, giving consideration to deadlines.
