Your Role
As a Sales Ledger Accountant, you will take ownership of day-to-day sales ledger activities, ensuring transactions are processed accurately, efficiently, and with a service-minded approach for both internal and external stakeholders.
Working closely with the Sales Ledger Team Leader, you’ll play a key role in maintaining financial controls, resolving queries, and identifying opportunities to streamline processes and working practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage sales ledger transactions, ensuring accurate allocation and reconciliation of receipts.
- Support accounts receivable processes, processing payments in accordance with customer agreements.
- Investigate and resolve all account discrepancies and outstanding issues efficiently.
- Act as the primary contact for customer and stakeholder queries, providing clear and prompt responses.
- Maintain accurate financial records and data across finance systems.
- Assist with month-end activities and reporting obligations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function.
- Provide cover and deputise for the Team Leader when needed.
- Develop strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across the organisation.

Requirements & Qualifications
Successful applicants will possess:
- Previous experience within a Sales Ledger or Accounts Receivable environment.
- Familiarity with processing high volumes of financial transactions with strict accuracy requirements.
- Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills to resolve complex discrepancies.
- Spotless attention to detail and robust organisational abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word (including intermediate-advanced functions).
- Experience using computerised accounting systems (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite, or similar).
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage with stakeholders via phone, email, and virtual meetings.
- Experience using database solutions and maintaining precise financial records.
- Ideally: AAT qualification, being actively studying towards an accounting professional certification, or a willingness to pursue one.
