Accounts Assistant
We’re looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our Diss team and help us deliver a first‑class service to our clients.
You’ll be part of a supportive, collaborative environment where people are encouraged to grow, develop their skills, and build long‑term careers. This role is ideal for someone who has completed AAT Level 4,
You’ll work closely with colleagues across the Business South team, supporting a varied client base and contributing to the delivery of accurate, timely financial information.
Job Title: Accounts Assistant Department: Business South Team Location: Diss Hours: Full time (37.5 hours per week) Salary: starting from £25,000 depending on experience Key Responsibilities • Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies under the guidance of senior team members. • Assisting with bookkeeping, including processing transactions, reconciling accounts and maintaining accurate records. • Preparing VAT returns and supporting clients with digital record keeping requirements. • Helping with management accounts and other financial reporting tasks. • Communicating with clients to gather information, answer queries and build strong working relationships. • Ensuring working papers and files meet our internal quality standards. • Using a range of accounting software, including Xero, QuickBooks, Sage and CCH. • Contributing to the smooth running of the office and supporting colleagues during busy periods.

Experience & Skills • AAT Level 4 qualified • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to your work. • Confident using cloud based accounting software and Excel. • A good communicator who enjoys working with people and building relationships. • Organised, proactive and able to manage your workload effectively. • Experience in an accountancy practice is helpful but not essential - what matters most is your attitude and willingness to learn.
