Accounts Assistant

  • Performing two-stage bank reconciliations across multiple property funds.
  • Reconciling general ledger accounts and ensuring accuracy of financial records.
  • Completing service charge fund reconciliations, including investigating Accounts Payable transactions and leaseholder activity.
  • Arranging and processing transfers where required, such as landlord forward funding and CIS retention reimbursements.
  • Conducting monthly reviews of landlord loan balances relating to service charge funds.
  • Preparing and distributing daily cash statements.
  • Processing tenant refunds, including deposit repayments and rent credit reimbursements.
  • Managing transfers of deposits to the Deposit Protection Service.
  • Transferring service charge funds from rent accounts to designated service charge accounts.
  • Processing inter-company and inter-account transfers.
  • Handling non-Accounts Payable payments and staff expense claims.
  • Posting BARX treasury deposits.

Profile

A Successful Accounts Assistant Should Have:

  • A solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles.
  • A structured and organised approach to work.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Previous experience within a property management environment would be advantageous, although it is not essential.
