Forge Talent have partnered with a large, multi-entity manufacturing business to support with a newly created role in their Central Finance Team.
This is an ideal opportunity for an Accounts Assistant who is looking to fulfil a varied and rewarding role that will provide exposure to multiple processes in an evolving business environment.
You will play a crucial role in supporting group financial operations. Previous Accounts Payable and bank reconciliations is essential. Payroll exposure is highly advantageous.
Accounts Assistant Responsibilities:
- Matching and processing supplier invoices
- Investigation and resolution of any invoice matching issues
- Recording of payment proposals, and onwards payment processing.
- Processing payments in Barclays Banking platform
- Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers via telephone and email to update on payment dates and held invoices.
- Supplier statement reconciliations, requesting copy invoices as required.
- Collating and processing of confidential payroll information.
- Updating and checking of payroll spreadsheets and sending to the external payroll team.
- Posting of payroll journal entries.
- Supporting with month end accounting
- Providing cover for the accounts receivable team as required.
- Maintaining organised records of financial transactions and documentation for audit purposes
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements as required
- Assist with cash flow forecasting files and reporting
- Collaborate with the wider finance team to offer support as required.

Accounts Assistant Required Experience:
- Previous experience (2+ years) in a similar Accounts Assistant position.
- Previous experience of overseeing the end-to-end accounts payable process is essential.
- Experience working in a multi-site environment is highly advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational and task prioritisation skills
- Proficiency with financial software packages (Sage is highly advantageous)
- Intermediate and above Excel skills (V lookups and pivot tables are essential)
- A positive and proactive approach to tasks and duties.
- AAT qualifications or working towards are advantageous.
- The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
