Accounts Assistant
TPF Recruitment is supporting a growing and highly regarded accountancy practice in Chichester with the recruitment of an Accounts Assistant to join their expanding team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within accountancy practice. Working with a varied portfolio of clients, you will support qualified Accountants across accounts preparation, bookkeeping, tax compliance, and wider practice work, gaining valuable hands-on experience and technical development along the way.
As an Accounts Assistant, you will:
- Process client data using cloud accounting software including Xero, Dext, Sage, and QuickBooks.
- Develop bookkeeping skills to support progression into year-end accounts preparation and tax compliance work using the CCH software suite.
- Assist with the preparation of year-end accounts for Limited Companies, LLPs, Sole Traders, and Partnerships.
- Prepare accounts packs and supporting documentation for client submission.
- Work through file review points and make any necessary amendments.
- Assist with the preparation and filing of corporation tax and personal tax returns under supervision.
- Support with ad hoc assignments throughout the year, including P11D submissions.
- Work to agreed client budgets and deadlines, ensuring work is completed accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with internal procedures, policies, and relevant legislation.
- Provide support to Accountants and the wider team as required.

Requirements
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Some previous experience within an accountancy or bookkeeping environment, with practice experience beneficial.
- Strong interest in developing a career within accounts and tax.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Good time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused approach.
- Experience using accounting software would be advantageous, although training can be provided.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
