Accounts Assistant

Permanent

£28,000 - £30,000 p/a

Haverhill, Suffolk

A client of ours in the Haverhill area is recruiting an Accounts Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time permanent position working Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5.00pm and paying £28,000 - £30,000 per annum depending on experience.

Reporting to the FD, key duties include but are not limited to:

  • Matching, coding, and inputting of invoices
  • Processing payments
  • Reconciling supplier statements
  • Distribution of invoices for approval and filing
  • Maintaining and reconciling cashbooks to nominal and bank
  • Raising invoices and posting receipts and credit control
  • Notifying invoices to and drawing down funds from Invoice Finance system
  • VAT & duty reconciliations and returns
  • Coordination of the company pension scheme
  • General ledger - prepare sales and purchase ledger for month-end close
  • Reconciliation of bank statements and general banking activities
  • Processing and paying expenses and petty cash maintenance
  • Supporting quarterly and annual stock taking activities

Skills and Experience required to be considered for this Accounts Assistant position:

  • AAT Level 2 accountancy qualified (or equivalent)
  • 2+ years' experience working in an accounts/finance environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Confident in using Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and accounting systems
  • Experience with bank and ledger reconciliations
