Accounts Assistant

A client of ours in the Haverhill area is recruiting an Accounts Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time permanent position working Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5.00pm and paying £28,000 - £30,000 per annum depending on experience.
Reporting to the FD, key duties include but are not limited to:
- Matching, coding, and inputting of invoices
- Processing payments
- Reconciling supplier statements
- Distribution of invoices for approval and filing
- Maintaining and reconciling cashbooks to nominal and bank
- Raising invoices and posting receipts and credit control
- Notifying invoices to and drawing down funds from Invoice Finance system
- VAT & duty reconciliations and returns
- Coordination of the company pension scheme
- General ledger - prepare sales and purchase ledger for month-end close
- Reconciliation of bank statements and general banking activities
- Processing and paying expenses and petty cash maintenance
- Supporting quarterly and annual stock taking activities

Skills and Experience required to be considered for this Accounts Assistant position:
- AAT Level 2 accountancy qualified (or equivalent)
- 2+ years' experience working in an accounts/finance environment
- Excellent communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Confident in using Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and accounting systems
- Experience with bank and ledger reconciliations
