Accounts Assistant
Salary: Up to £35,000
Location: Wythenshawe
A growing eco-conscious brand is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join its friendly team in Wythenshawe. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of day-to-day finance activities while working closely with the Finance Director on cash flow management and financial planning.

- Working closely with the Finance Director, you will manage accounts activities, credit control, invoicing, reconciliations, and VAT compliance while liaising with external partners including banks and accountants.
- You will be exposed to countless opportunities and gain valuable experience from working closely besides the Finance Director.

About You
The successful candidate will have previous finance administration or accounts assistant experience and be confident managing a variety of finance tasks within a busy environment.
You will have:
- Experience using Xero accounting software
- Experience in Accounts, reconciliations, invoicing, and credit control
- Good understanding of VAT and UK financial compliance requirements
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent numeracy and analytical skills
- Confident communication skills when dealing with suppliers, customers, and external stakeholders
- Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
- A proactive and positive approach to work
Experience with systems such as Shopify Trade, Coupa, Inflow, or E3 would be advantageous but is not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily cash flow and maintain accurate financial records
- Support financial planning and forecasting activities
- Monitor budgets, debt trackers, and HMRC obligations
- Process supplier invoices and schedule payments
- Raise customer invoices and allocate incoming payments
- Manage weekly credit control activities, including chasing outstanding debts and producing reports
- Reconcile accounts and maintain accurate records within Xero
- Liaise with banks, finance providers, and external accountants
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with Making Tax Digital requirements
- Support quarterly management accounts and year-end processes
- Produce sales, customer, product, and profitability reports
- Maintain organised finance documentation and records
