Accounts Assistant – Grangemouth

About the Role

Could you be the person we are looking for to join us as our new Accounts Assistant in Grangemouth? We want to hear from you!

What would your day at GAC look like? You will support the finance function across a range of core accounting and administrative duties, including:

  • Managing the department mailbox and responding to queries from internal and external stakeholders
  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Posting journals and supporting ledger reviews
  • Calculating and posting monthly accruals and prepayments
  • Preparing balance sheet and bank reconciliations
  • Supporting the UK statutory reporting process
  • Analysing and posting credit card and cash expenses
  • Setting up bank payments for authorisation
  • Contributing to ad hoc project work and continuous improvement initiatives

Business Analysis

  • Providing analytical insights to support business decision-making and identify areas for improvement
  • Producing and presenting regular management information reports
  • Supporting budget tracking and performance analysis

Job Requirements

What are we looking for?

  • Proven ability to work to tight deadlines with strong time management skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong competency in Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge and experience of journal posting (including debits and credits)
  • Confidence communicating with non-finance colleagues across the business
