Pebbles Care: Accounts Assistant Opportunity

Pebbles Care, a leading education and residential child care organisation committed to providing exceptional care and support to children, is seeking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team.

Our Finance department plays a vital role in ensuring the business's cash flow and coordinating operations effectively and efficiently. You will work as part of an established team of finance and accounting professionals in the residential child care sector.

Your Role

Working on a hybrid model between home and our office in Darlington, your role will include:

  • Processing accounts payable, using Sage Accounts50.
  • Operating and working with our purchase order system, Procuredesk.
  • Supporting the department with purchase order projects.
  • Managing our bank card system, Soldo.
  • Assisting homes with enquiries in relation to our card system.
  • Processing mail and responding to the finance email inbox.
  • Assisting the Management Accountant with month and year-end processes.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of experience in accounting, with an understanding of bank reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable.
  • Part or fully qualified in ACCA, CIMA or ICAS.
  • Experienced in SAGE 50, accounts payable and purchase order processes.
  • Competent in all Microsoft applications, including Excel.
  • Proactive nature.
  • Good critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Consistent professional manner.
  • Ability to work accurately, prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and work towards any relevant qualifications, where appropriate.
  • Can work independently or as part of a team.

Desirable Requirements

  • Full driving licence.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.

What We Offer You

  • A salary of £27,578.25 per annum.
  • Your hours of work are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • You will receive 28 days' holidays per annum, pro rata (full-time equivalent).
