Waylands MG, Oxford

Due to our continued growth, Waylands are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our growing team at our new MG dealership in Oxford. This role will be responsible for the daily processing and reconciliation of all bank transactions, ensuring that the transactions are correctly recorded within the relevant businesses, while maintaining compliance with established systems and procedures.

We are looking for a dynamic, eager and keen individual, who is incredibly organised and enjoys working within a fast-paced environment. You will have experience within banking, cash books and accounts processes, and driven to learn and develop your understanding and expertise.

What’s the Job?

  • Reconcile and post daily banking
  • Scan and post purchase ledger invoices onto system
  • Ensure unallocated payments on purchase ledger are cleared
  • Post petty cash onto system and reconcile
  • Reconcile supplier statements
  • Verify sublet purchase invoices where necessary
  • Credit control
  • Post daily bank statement and completing bank reconcile
  • Monthly BACS run
  • Sales and purchase ledger reconciliations
  • Any other month end tasks requested by the Accountant
  • Ad hoc projects at request of Accountant
  • Liaison with other departments to improve systems and communication

Who Are We Looking For?

  • Must have experience of working in accounts/finance roles.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Good communicator who is able to work with non-finance teams.
  • Analytical with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A self-starter with the ability to use initiative whilst working independently and part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to self-review work
  • Able to pick up, understand and follow processes quickly
