Accounts Assistant
Accounts Assistant – Atherton (£27,000 - £28,000 per annum)
Location: Atherton (Office-based) Type: Full-time, permanent role
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and organised Accounts Assistant to join our busy finance team in Atherton. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous accounts experience and strong Accounts Payable knowledge.
The successful candidate will support the day-to-day finance function, ensuring financial records are accurate, deadlines are met, and processes run efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily bank reconciliations using Sage 200
- Processing financial transactions
- Raising customer invoices
- Resolving invoice and payment queries with customers and suppliers
- Processing recovery payments
- Managing online orders
- Processing daily bank payments
- Weekly credit card reconciliations
- Maintaining the sales ledger
- Processing purchase invoices, matching, batching, and coding
- Processing monthly supplier payment runs
- Reconciling petty cash
- Supplier statement reconciliations and month-end reconciliations
- Assisting with weekly payroll
- Managing company fines and associated administration

Profile Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or Accounts Payable role
- Experience using Sage 200 (advantageous but not mandatory)
- A good understanding of purchase ledger processes
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive approach and the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
