Accounts Assistant – Charles Tyrwhitt

About the Role

We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to ensure our business leaders across our Head Office and Operational teams effectively understand and manage their cost base, supported by the Finance Manager.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts for each department, including the identification and posting of accruals where necessary
  • Collaborate with the Finance Manager to develop forecasts and budgets, identifying financial risks and opportunities
  • Assess and approve supplier invoices against cost expectations
  • Reconcile relevant balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
  • Work closely with the Distribution Centre & Contact Centre to provide up-to-date volume forecasts for effective payroll planning
  • Undertake ad hoc tasks as directed by the Finance Manager

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Interest in starting (or continuing) a career in Finance / Accounting
  • Recent commencement of, or a desire to study an accountancy qualification (e.g., CIMA or ACCA)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to demonstrate initiative and a proactive mindset
  • Experience effectively engaging with key stakeholders across the business
  • Proficient IT skills, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
  • Familiarity with accounting software is a desirable but not essential asset
  • Educated to degree level, preferably in Accounting or a relevant discipline
  • Strong academic background
  • Some Finance team experience is advantageous but not mandatory
