Accounts Assistant / Credit Controller

Financial Controller Assistant (Sales Ledger & Reconciliations)

Reporting to: The Financial Controller

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing sales ledger duties
  • Completing bank reconciliations
  • Allocating payments
  • Resolving finance queries
  • Conducting credit control activities and customer account reporting
  • Performing intercompany reconciliations and stock-related finance processes
  • Supporting the preparation of VAT returns
  • Assisting the Financial Controller with broader duties
  • Enabling audit preparation, schedules, and supporting documentation
  • Ensuring the sales ledger remains accurate and closed within reporting deadlines

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant who excels in a fast-paced environment, delivering highly accurate financial information with confidence.


Requirements & Qualifications

Ideally you will have:

  • Experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance position
  • A strong understanding of:
    • Reconciliations
    • ledger management
    • month-end processes
  • Experience with:
    • Audit support
    • VAT processes
  • Proficiency in Excel, with the ability to analyse and interpret financial data
  • Experience using accounting software and reporting systems
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, capable of collaborating across the business
  • A positive and collaborative approach to problem-solving and process improvement
  • A proactive, resilient attitude, with a willingness to take ownership
