Reporting to the UK Financial Controller and in close collaboration with the Finance team in UK and globally, the Accounts Assistant will be responsible for supporting month-end closing activities.

The candidate will be required to help with month end processes, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail. There will be opportunities to participate in global processes in the Solotech Group and develop the candidate’s professional career.

Day to day tasks:

  • Ensures monthly bank reconciliations are prepared accurately and efficiently within set deadline.
  • Post monthly accruals for the Global credit card expenses and reconcile the purchase ledger account.
  • Ensures UK VAT returns are input into various platforms, recording the related accounting entries accurately within set deadline.
  • Ensures both recurring and non-recurring month-end journal entries are executed accurately within set deadlines.
  • Ensures monthly work sheets relating to specific balance sheet items are analysed and reconciled against set deadline.
  • Any other reasonable ad-hoc requests as required by your manager

Essential skills / experience:

  • Good Microsoft office skills including Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to cope with high volumes of processing to meet deadlines
  • Good communications skills, including ability to communicate confidently with non-finance colleagues.
  • Flexible, positive, enthusiastic, can-do approach work ethic
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Personable team player with a hands-on approach
  • Inquisitive mindset, with desire for problem solving and attention to detail

  • Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Bank and Cash reconciliations experience.
  • AAT level 2 qualified.
  • Tech savvy.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience.

Level of education:

Educated to A-level (or equivalent) or relevant work experience.

Essential Requirements:

  • Right to Work and Remain in the UK

Work experience:

A minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant role.
