Are you an accounts assistant looking for your next career move?
Due to continued growth at Kendra, we're looking for an experienced accounts assistant to join our accounts department on a full-time, permanent basis. Initially office based, you'll have the option of hybrid home working upon completion of training.
The successful candidate will play a key supporting role within the finance function, working closely with and supporting both the Purchase Ledger Manager and the Credit Manager to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day financial operations.
What you'll need
- Previous experience in Credit Control and Purchase Ledger
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when working with numerical data
- Basic understanding of financial accounts and processes
- Experience using SAGE 200
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritise workload, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills.
- Flexible and self-motivated.
- Full Driving License.

Qualifications
- Minimum GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English and Maths
What you'll be doing
Sales Ledger
- Manage and chase outstanding debt while maintaining strong customer relationships
- Issue customer statements and monitor payment terms
- Allocate incoming payments accurately
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Conduct credit checks and set up new customer accounts
- Support monthly debt review meetings with regional teams
- Assist with Applications for Payment and Retention processes (training provided if required)
Purchase Ledger
- Maintain accurate up-to-date purchase ledger records
- Process supplier invoices and credit notes using Eque2 Construct and SAGE 200
- Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies
- Set up new supplier accounts
- Process supplier payments and ensure timely resolution of queries
- Reconcile supplier payments
General Duties
- Provide ad hoc administrative and financial support, as required
