Accountable Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a well-established professional services organisation who are seeking to appoint an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team on a full-time permanent basis in Chester.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative and supportive finance function, taking responsibility for a varied role across purchase ledger, accounts administration, and financial processing activities.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of the finance department, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and consistency across financial processes.

Job Duties:

  • Process purchase ledger invoices, including inputting, coding, scanning, and reconciliation.
  • Prepare weekly payment runs and liaise with suppliers where required.
  • Manage employee expenses and company credit card transactions.
  • Reconcile purchase ledger accounts on a regular basis.
  • Investigate and resolve unmatched invoices, credits, and payments.
  • Assist with month-end purchase ledger reconciliations.
  • Support wider finance activities and provide cover for colleagues when required.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure transactions are processed efficiently.
  • Contribute to the delivery of an effective and reliable finance service.

Ideal Experience:

  • Previous experience within a purchase ledger, accounts assistant, or finance administration role.
  • Strong numeracy skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience reconciling accounts and processing high volumes of transactions.
  • Proactive and self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently.
  • Professional and confident communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Good IT literacy, including confident use of Microsoft Excel.
  • Team player who enjoys working in a collaborative environment.
