Accounts Assistant (Maternity Cover)
Make Your Mark as an Accounts Assistant at Boskalis
The Accounts Assistant supports the maintenance of accurate financial records, transactions, and reports for companies within the UK Group. Key responsibilities include:
- Accounts Receivable & Payable
- Invoicing & General Bookkeeping
- Ensuring financial compliance, while providing day-to-day support to the finance team and broader business.
Main Tasks
- Oversee and post cashbook entries
- Process and post petty cash and vessel cash returns
- Manage prepaid expense card administration (issuing, top-ups, expense reconciliations)
- Reconcile cash advance ledger accounts
- Maintain the sales ledger and prepare debtors reports
- Process intercompany recharges
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations (intercompany, prepayments, debtors, banks, cash)
- Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure depreciation is posted
- Offer ad hoc support to the Finance Manager and Project Controllers -ininotherron accounting and administrative duties as required

- Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a finance or accounting role
- Desirable: AAT qualification or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of general accounting principles
- Hands-on experience with cashbook postings, expense processing, and reconciliations
- Basic understanding of VAT, CIS, and purchase-ledger-related taxes
- Proficient in Excel and accounting/ERP systems
- Flair for data entry and accuracy
- Confidence in collaborating across diverse teams and locations

Additional Information
- Role: Reports to the Finance Manager, based in the Finance Business Unit.
- Location: Primarily at Westminster House, Fareham, Hampshire, UK.
- Flexibility: Up to 2 hybrid working days per week.
- Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours/week).
- Tenure: 1-year fixed-term contract.
